Right back signed for Arnold early in 92/93 from Alfreton Town along with his good friend Pete Catling. A promising league career at Sheff Utd was cut short through injury, "Wally" made numerous comebacks following leg breaks. This may have helped explain why he always employed the rugby style clearance of "finding touch"....or in our case the top of the rusting GR main stand.
Holds the rather dubious distinction of becoming the first Eagle to be sent off in a League game. Two bookable offences saw Lee walk on 18th Dec. 1993 in a 1-2 defeat at Louth. In stark contrast to how the game is officiated today it took over four years for the first Arnold Town sending off in a league fixture to occur!
Wally's other clubs included Gainsborough, Sheffield Aurora and Worksop Town. Later of course enjoyed a highly successful spell in management at Sheffield FC
With regard to Lee's Blades career he signed for the Bramhall Lane club in January 1985 and was released at the end of the 86/87 season. He made nine Football League appearances scoring one goal against Leeds United in April 1986. His debut was on May Day in 1985 a 1-3 defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers.

The ever popular "Nellie" had two spells with Arnold the earlier one being in 1986/87 - the Saints' first season in the CML. Joined the Eagles at the beginning of the 91/92 season from Hucknall Rolls Royce making his "Town" debut at Oakham on 21st Aug.1991.
Neil hit the "100" mark for the Eagles on 2nd Nov. 93 against Hallam in a Presidents Cup tie before going on to become the first to notch up 200 (and indeed 300) apps for the club.
Arnold Town's "other 200 Club" was officially launched on 12th December 1995 at Goole Town in a mid-week League Cup 3rd Round tie where Neil under lined his landmark with a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory. The very first "200 Club" silver salva presentation took place on 16th Jan. 1996 when former Saints keeper Steve Rann did the honours on behalf of the Supporters Club before an NSC tie with Southwell City.
At that point Neil had just declined to be prised away from Gedling Road after Belper Town had come in with what was termed a "very good offer" for his services.
Also served time at Eastwood, Hucknall Town, and Ilkeston Town plus appearing for Derby County Res at one point.
Neil's habit of playing the ball out of his area when under pressure at times will live long in the memory amongst Arna fans. When they changed the back pass rule in the early 90s (?) Nellie certainly saw this as his opportunity to get more involved in the game!
A true gent on and off the pitch.
